I used to host Thanksgiving when we lived in Utah. I did it for 6 years. 25-30 people. I loved it. Now there is no-way I could squeeze that many bodies in this 1100 square foot house without it splitting open! When I was playing hostess with the mostess I would always have everyone vote what their favorite side dish was. Without fail I would win (I am not competitive at all). My winning dish was this Sweet Potato Casserole...let me correct that PALEO Sweet Potato Casserole. And I would always be so excited to tell them that it WAS in fact Paleo and prove to them that eating Paleo can be ... Read More

Fall Table Setting- Using What You Have
I love a simple, easy table setting. A table setting with pieces that I already have, all mixed together to create a place everyone feels comfortable and special to be at our table. This table setting actually reminds me of my mom. She always clips sunflowers from the yard and has them on the table in vases she found at second hand stores. I know she influenced me on how I decorate today and for sure influenced the "use what you have" way of thinking. She is about focusing on connecting and loving on her guests than fussing over a big fancy table. She is the most caring person and the way she ... Read More

I received a lot of new design questions the past week, that means a lot of new Email Subscribers to my blog! Thank you! I really appreciate the support. Because I know a lot of us are visual learners. I hope it ... Read More
Outdoor Patio- Now we REALLY love it!
We had a yard sale or "tag sale" as they call it in Connecticut. I wanted it to be good, I knew I had some blog readers coming, friends and social media friends, I didn't want them to be disappointed! So I put out a lot of things I wasn't really planning on, like the outdoor patio furniture we had at the time. I put out the patio table first because it was a little damaged. Then I added the red chairs and the sectional too! I was ready for a change and had some ideas in my mind that I thought would be better for our family. We made some quick decisions when we originally moved in and we didn't ... Read More

Friday Favorites starts with Fall Porches
It felt like Fall for a couple of days here in Connecticut! I think I buy a pumpkin or a mum every time I go to the store, I mean one or two at a time will eventually lead to a gorgeous Fall porch. I just found out my mom and sister are coming for Halloween so I want it extra festive! I gathered some major Fall front porch inspiration photos since it is on my brain! These are my favorites... Chloe from Boxwood Avenue shared this image on her Instagram HERE. I love the entire set-up. Notice there aren't any pumpkins? But is does have a gorgeous Fall vibe and felling. Brittany from Addison ... Read More
Fall Decor in our Family Room- Seasons of Home Series
Are you ready for a little Fall Decor now? It is officially Fall in my eyes. My girls walked in from school the other day and Ella, my oldest said "It feels like Fall in here, good job Mom!" (this Family Room is the first room they see off the bus). She just knows how to make her mom happy. I love that she said it "feels" rather than "looks". Fall is a feeling. I am happy to be joining Ella Claire Inspired and her blogging tour again this week for Seasons of Home. Today is all about our Family Rooms and the simple touches we add to create that Fall feeling. Let's get started! Our Family ... Read More
Friday Favorites starts with a Solution to Light Rugs
Are you a no-shoe house? I like our family to take them off but I never ask guests to remove their shoes. Do you? I mean I can see why some people do. Light rugs can be really hard to keep clean! We try not to wear shoes in Finn's nursery but sometimes we end up walking in with them on. Or Finn will bring a big thing of dish soap into his room and pour it on the rug. No? That doesn't happen to you? Well luckily I did catch him before it got too messy, but there was still a spot. So I was pretty thrilled to discover a new rug line! Lorena Canals washable rugs! They have a lot of great ... Read More
