12 Favorite Things in Teen Girls Bedroom

I love decorating teen bedrooms, and doing it with the teen! You can always see how much they like the after, based on how much time they now want to spend in it. When a room is decorated for you, you want to take care of it, and keep it nice. Sharing the favorite things my teens love, from creatively displaying their art, to displaying one of a kind art. Hope it inspires you!

1- Vanity Mirror & Get Ready Station

When we designed these built-ins, I had imagined the girls using it as a work desk. For homework and arts and crafts. But they use this space the most as a get ready station! 
The vanity mirror is a favorite item. If you have the space, or can swap a nightstand for a vanity, or a desk instead of a nightstand.
To keep the space clean, we’ve learned everything needs a spot to go. This desk organizer has worked great to hold Lola’s makeup and brushes. Lola’s room here.
Ella likes to use her space as a desk too! She loves this dry erase calendar.

2- Floor Mirror

A floor mirror is a real perk for any room!!
Floor mirrors brighten the room, but more importantly, teen girls need them for their “fit” checks!

3- Jewelry Storage

This is a favorite thing for any trinket loving girl. We need a space to keep all our jewelry from getting lost, tangled and damaged, plus makes for cute decor.

4- Plants

Ella and Lola have plants in their room, we love houseplants so much. Most of my decor is in the form of a plant. I like that they add life to a room! I’ve seen studies that share how plants can improve air quality, mood and promote creativity! Plus a plant is a great way to teach kids to take care of things, easier than a fish! Ella REALLY likes her plants, she will say it is her top favorite thing in her room. All our favorite plants here.

5- One of a Kind Decor

When your teen finds smithing unique, fun, or important to them, find a way to display it! My girls gave each other these fun rotary dial phones for Christmas they had found thrifting.
We found a cute spot for the phones in their bookcases.

6- Hooks

Wall Hooks on the back of a door is a teens easy solution to keep a clean room! Wall hooks are perfect to hang purses, belts, a robe, jackets, etc.

7- Cozy Bed

8- Spot for Friends to Sit

Love the girls window seats. A cozy spot to sit and admire the view, and extra room for friends when they come to hang out.

9- Diffuser

We are big fans of a diffuser in bedrooms, we all like our rooms to smell nice and we wouldn’t want a candle burning in a bedroom. Plus diffusers with pure essential oils are amazing for sleep support.
My girls have this disco ball diffuser and they love the Glow Bundle of essential oils with it. Finn has Feather, the Owl Diffuser  and my nephew has Sprout, the Puppy Diffuser ! My 20 year old nephew has the Essential Solutions kit in his dorm, it is a big hit with all his roommates. Good place to start is HERE if you are new to oils!

10- Memo Boards

Lola loves her fabric board. To hang photos, reminders, art, or really whatever she wants! I found this fabric board you could hang 2 to make a look similar to Lola’s! The floral pattern memory board is a fun option too! Darling decor that holds your teen’s art!

11- Music- Record Players, Speaker, Alexa or Google Home

Music is such a big part of our lives. It can bring back a memory, make you happy, help you process emotions, make you feel validated and seen, it can help you relate to others and conversation starters! My girls love listening to music on their record players, speakers and AirPods. Music in a teen room is a must!
