Front Entry gets a Bold Stripe Wallpaper

When you walk in our front doors you are greeted by sweet gold birds! We wallpapered the ceiling and some of the walls in the entry over 2 years ago. We have added lots personality and character to our home. And just when I think I’m done, I find a space I know could make look cozier. Which is why I kept coming back to the blank walls along the stairway and knew I wanted color…and stripes!

Here it is! Ella said it looks like a boutique hotel, agree! This Burgundy Striped wallpaper coordinates with the shiplap on the ceiling that is painted in Sulking Room Pink from Farrow & Ball and the lower trim in Hague Blue from Farrow & Ball.
The stripes also looked good against the Sparrow Wallpaper and also the fresh grasscloth wallpaper of the dining room.
I have always loved the look of vertical stripes on stairways. The stripes accentuate the height and add a lot of character! I love how the wallpaper makes the art pop!

We love it and think it combines all the spaces perfectly. Definitely makes the entry feel very welcoming and cozy.

We painted the wood trim detailing in Hague Blue from Farrow & Ball (we had it color matched at Sherwin Willams in semi-gloss). You can see how we did that here.
It wasn’t easy hanging wallpaper here. The walls are really tall, my sister helped me, I think wallpapering is a two person job!

Another tip is to may sure you have high quality wallpaper for a high traffic area. Along the stair rails and hallways hands always seem to drag along them. I know I will need to be washing the walls often.
