Hello! This past week I posted on my Instagram Stories videos of houses in our area that I love to ride our bikes by. You already know I am THAT person who creeps slowly by the cute houses hoping to peep inside. Finn and I were out on a bike ride and loving all of the Fall Decor and little touches of Halloween Decor that neighbors had made and thinking how lovely everything was. Until I came across the "Scary Halloween house" the one that went a little too far. I literally shielded Finn's eyes! They actually splattered paint to look like blood (I am hoping it is just paint) up their sidewalk ... Read More
Fall Table Setting- Using What You Have
I love a simple, easy table setting. A table setting with pieces that I already have, all mixed together to create a place everyone feels comfortable and special to be at our table. This table setting actually reminds me of my mom. She always clips sunflowers from the yard and has them on the table in vases she found at second hand stores. I know she influenced me on how I decorate today and for sure influenced the "use what you have" way of thinking. She is about focusing on connecting and loving on her guests than fussing over a big fancy table. She is the most caring person and the way she ... Read More
How I Eat Mexican on a Paleo Diet and other Paleo Hacks- Pumpkin Tacos
Chips and Salsa are life! I could honestly eat that for lunch everyday and I would be happy girl. I really don't think I could get sick of it. But maybe that isn't the best lunch option. Living a Paleo Diet you would think chips and salsa would be out of the question. Or even tacos made with a tortilla, not just wrapped in lettuce. When I go out to eat I am always that girl asking the waiter to please wrap my taco's in a lettuce cup or Fajitas with lettuce cups rather than tortillas. But sometimes you just want a tortilla with chips and salsa! Taco Tuesday or Mexican Monday can still be a ... Read More
Friday Favorites starts with Cutting Boards
Friends. Friends and Cutting Boards. That sounds like I am going to say all the ways friends are like cutting boards. No. Just my friends visited last week for one day, really like 6 hours. My friends appreciate the little details in my home and tell me! I do the same for them. It gave me a boost to have them visit and also left me missing them and a little sad. I do have friends in CT but I feel like the friends I have here already have their really good friends they have known forever and family close. Most people in our area grew up here and know everyone. I remember when we moved to CT ... Read More
Outdoor Patio- Now we REALLY love it!
We had a yard sale or "tag sale" as they call it in Connecticut. I wanted it to be good, I knew I had some blog readers coming, friends and social media friends, I didn't want them to be disappointed! So I put out a lot of things I wasn't really planning on, like the outdoor patio furniture we had at the time. I put out the patio table first because it was a little damaged. Then I added the red chairs and the sectional too! I was ready for a change and had some ideas in my mind that I thought would be better for our family. We made some quick decisions when we originally moved in and we didn't ... Read More

Friday Favorites starts with Fall Porches
It felt like Fall for a couple of days here in Connecticut! I think I buy a pumpkin or a mum every time I go to the store, I mean one or two at a time will eventually lead to a gorgeous Fall porch. I just found out my mom and sister are coming for Halloween so I want it extra festive! I gathered some major Fall front porch inspiration photos since it is on my brain! These are my favorites... Chloe from Boxwood Avenue shared this image on her Instagram HERE. I love the entire set-up. Notice there aren't any pumpkins? But is does have a gorgeous Fall vibe and felling. Brittany from Addison ... Read More
Coastal Living Eclectic Beach House Tour
You are in for a treat! I got to tour the most character filled Coastal home in my neighborhood. I actually saw this home in our local Fairfield, Connecticut magazine. I then realized that we ride bikes by it all the time on the way to my girls school or the beach. They are just a short walk to our local beach. Not to mention that yellow door is very distinct and eye catching. I reached out to Gaelle and asked if I could come peep inside her home, because I am a creeper like that:) and I knew all of you would LOVE to see this. A Coastal home like this needs to be shared with the world! Gaelle ... Read More
Fall Decor in our Family Room- Seasons of Home Series
Are you ready for a little Fall Decor now? It is officially Fall in my eyes. My girls walked in from school the other day and Ella, my oldest said "It feels like Fall in here, good job Mom!" (this Family Room is the first room they see off the bus). She just knows how to make her mom happy. I love that she said it "feels" rather than "looks". Fall is a feeling. I am happy to be joining Ella Claire Inspired and her blogging tour again this week for Seasons of Home. Today is all about our Family Rooms and the simple touches we add to create that Fall feeling. Let's get started! Our Family ... Read More
Friday Favorites starts with a Solution to Light Rugs
Are you a no-shoe house? I like our family to take them off but I never ask guests to remove their shoes. Do you? I mean I can see why some people do. Light rugs can be really hard to keep clean! We try not to wear shoes in Finn's nursery but sometimes we end up walking in with them on. Or Finn will bring a big thing of dish soap into his room and pour it on the rug. No? That doesn't happen to you? Well luckily I did catch him before it got too messy, but there was still a spot. So I was pretty thrilled to discover a new rug line! Lorena Canals washable rugs! They have a lot of great ... Read More
