Happy St. Patricks day! My daughters were pretty excited for the day, just anything slightly different about a day get's them going. We even made a leprechaun trap. I went to Old Navy the other day looking for a green shirt for my daughters, because #holiday. I found one on clearance for both my daughters and I couldn't help it, I picked up a few things for myself. I was loving all their new spring things! I shared what I picked up along with other Favorite things from this past week. I came across THIS home tour of Juliane Hough. She is too cute and her home is just as cute. I loved ... Read More

Friday Favorites starts with Clients Design Plan
I really enjoy sharing little changes we make to our little cape and how we live as a family of 5 in 1100 square feet. Before starting this blogging journey. I worked for a design firm in Utah (for those that are new to my blog). I managed a high-end design store that offered design services too. I really loved it. I would go to design markets and spend over 100k in new product for the store. It was fun spending someone else's money and with a big budget:) Honestly I thought I would never leave that job. So when the opportunity came for us to move our little family to Connecticut and give ... Read More
Friday Favorites starts with Chandeliers
I am SO excited for this weekend. I mentioned in a different post that my husband travels for work in February. THIS Sunday he comes home from his last long trip! So let the home projects start back up again, just kidding...well kind of. So I have a quick Friday Favorites for you and it starts with some chandeliers. Thanks for all your feedback and thoughts on shiplap from my last post. I am thinking chandeliers now for my kitchen and contemplating changing out the chandelier (we have #4 on the list below) for something a little different. Below are some of my favorites, they are all ... Read More
Friday Favorites starts with my Home Tour
This week has flown by, with kids getting out early and today being a day off from school. I have been kind of in a funk lately. I think we are all our worst critics, it really is sad. Lately I want to change everything in our house. Then I self reflect and think do I just feel that way because I am a designer/blogger who is exposed to too much? I went to someones house last week and oh man it was BEYOND cute. Like I would move right in and be happy. It was big, new, white, on the beach, lots of ship lap, lots of charm. It put me in a mood after seeing it. I finally snapped out of it- but it ... Read More
Paint Night Birthday Party
Ella just turned 9! What a fun, witty, sassy little thing she is. She wanted to have her Birthday party at our home again this year. The day of her scheduled party she was sick. She was so bummed. Then the day of her re-scheduled party three girls were sick. Personally I thought it was nice to have a smaller group. We had a paint night and it was a big hit, everyone loved the painting! This would be so fun to do with a bunch of girl friends or even with couples. I went to a paint night at a restaurant with some friends and it was a lot of fun- but it would be way more affordable to do ... Read More
Friday Favorites- Starts with Making your Bed
You know when you come across something great you want to tell your sister, friends and anyone who will listen? Well these are mine. All my favorites this past week that inspire or things I love wrapped up in a quick blog post! I read THIS article this past week "10 things to make you happier at home." And of course it starts with making your bed. Gretchen Rubin, author of The Happiness Project, explains that this three minute task is one of the simplest habits you can adopt to positively impact your happiness. I shared the above photo of my bed on my Instagram last night and ... Read More
Word of the Year- See it daily
I know that picking a word of the year is not a new concept. But I love it. I can remember when my former boss told me they were having all the managers pick ONE word for the year that sums up their goals for the year and they read THIS. I loved the idea of picking one word to define my goals. That year I picked CONNECT for my word. I had just moved to Connecticut and felt a little lonely away from all my friends and family I loved. So I decided I would try to CONNECT with new friends, CONNECT with God, CONNECT with my hubby and CONNECT with people on my blog and Instagram account. Having ... Read More
How I Grew my Instagram to 100k
I started my Instagram account on a whim. We had been in our new home in CT for about 4 months and I needed a creative outlet. I was unsure if I should just use my personal Instagram account and share design ideas that way. I bounced ideas off of my good friend Rachel and she was SO great to encourage me to use my nestingwithgrace account and get serious. And I did just that. Within the first 6 months I had close to 50k followers then a little over a year I had 100k followers. It was crazy to me and a lot of work, but the type of work that I love and am passionate about, the ... Read More
Top Blog Posts of 2016
I have been blogging for about a year and a half now and really love it. I started blogging when I moved to Connecticut as a way to keep up on my design skills and stay current with what was going on in the design world. Not to mention it has been another form of journaling I didn't consider. I had quit my job as a manager/buyer and designer to stay at home with my kids, I was thrilled to start this new chapter of my life but I also knew that setting goals and accomplishing tangible things contributes to my happiness. So a blog seemed like it would fill that need. Little did I know how busy it ... Read More
Our Family Christmas Cards 2016
I think Christmas cards can cause a big stress for families- because most of the time they require a darling family picture. I almost went there and jumped on the stressed out Christmas card train. But I didn't let myself. I stopped and thought "how can I make this the easiest and fun for my family?" And it totally worked! I partnered with Tiny Prints to share what I did this year- I originally was going to drive around and find the "perfect" setting for our pictures to be taken at. I was envisioning a big white barn that was slightly modern. Rather than waste half my day trespassing on ... Read More
