I have anywhere from 75-100 plants. Some might call it over doing it. But according to a study NASA did on plants and air quality I am just a little over the recommended amount. They recommend 18 plants for every 1800 square feet! Bonus, I really enjoy the activity of watering and caring for houseplants. I turn on a podcast or an audiobook and spend an hour stress-free wandering from room to room. Such a thrill when I see a plant has a new leaf. Plants not only add depth, life, and color to our home. Plants also help eliminate air pollutants, and boost our mood! Favorite Houseplant ... Read More
Girls Jack and Jill Bathroom- Utah Ranch Home
The girls know how lucky they are to have their own space to get ready everyday! When we bought our 1970's ranch style home there wasn't a second floor. The exterior felt like it needed a little something to add curb appeal. We went from just wanting to add dormers to adding an entire second floor. It transformed the exterior and made for the dreamiest bedrooms. Biggest bonus was the Jack and Jill bathroom we were able to add too. Here are all the photos of their bathroom, I sourced everything at the bottom! Bathroom Sources JavaScript ... Read More
Drawer Organizing with The Home Edit Favorites
I hope I am not alone, and you have messy drawers in your home too?? I actually took a poll on instagram and 90% of you do, 10% of you are living our organized goals. I had two drawers in our kitchen that needed to be decluttered and organized. First step was to remove everything. Sort similar items. Then get serious, do you really need 50 wooden spoons, multiple lemon juicers and can openers? Worth the effort, because I keep opening the drawers just to look inside, they make me so happy! Isn't it just interesting how an organized drawer can give you such peace?? Thank you Walmart for ... Read More
Our Bedding with Three Different Duvet Inserts
I thought I would do a blog post on three different duvet inserts with three different price points. Not all duvet inserts are created equal, but often a quality insert does the trick, you don't have to buy the most expensive option. While I was testing duvet inserts, I also tried a couple different looks for bedding. I personally love a neutral base, then I can change the look each season or when I feel like a change without having to get all new bedding. I don't think there is one way to make a bed. If you like a lot of pillows, then more is more! If too many pillows bothers you, then less ... Read More
Front Porch with Daisies and Favorite Baskets
Our porch needed some love. A few of the plants we had on the porch weren't looking that great, either needed to be moved to a new spot or were annuals that were past their prime. First I cleared everything off and cleaned the porch. Always good to start with a clean slate! Backyard Sports Court- FAQ
When we were deciding on our layout for our backyard Kevin and I both really wanted to create a space where we could host friends, and family. A place where the kids could be active and want to bring their friends. A place they felt comfortable, that was safe and a place for lots of fun! All of us knew we would enjoy a basketball court, pickleball court and even a futsol (soccer). After discussing the layout with our landscapers we found the perfect spot for the sports court and luckily we had just enough space in our backyard! Sports Court Before Sports Court Cost and ... Small Bathroom Reveal with Plaid Tile- Utah Ranch Home
We have a really small quirky bathroom in the basement of our 1970's home. It had a really small shower. Blinds that were used as a room divider to the utility room. It needed some love. I knew we could work with this small space and make it a nice guest bathroom. I wish it had a window, but hard to add one in a basement! So we embraced the dark space and painted the walls a dark. Girls Pre-Teen Dormer Bedroom Makeover
