Our yard is finished! We set a deadline to have it finished in time for an event, thankfully, it got done because of our awesome landscapers. Finally sharing all the details of the backyard area where the pool is. I will do a detailed post on the landscaping and all the yard soon. But wanted to share photos and answer the most asked questions on the pool and pavers. Before and After of Yard- We used the same pavers and pattern that we did at our Connecticut house! Why not repeat something you love and we really didn't get to enjoy that space too long. We hired a landscaping company ... Read More

Wood Garage Doors and Copper Exterior Lights Over Doors
When we bought our 1970's Ranch Remodel we knew we would have to buy new garage doors. The existing wood garage doors were cracked and broken. We wanted wood garage doors that would break up all the black paint on the house and just add something really interesting. Statement garage doors! Garage Doors Before- We love the driveway! The previous home owner, and only home owner, was a Stone Mason and owned a Quarry. He did really beautiful stone work. We can imagine the love and time it took to lay each piece of this long driveway. We wanted the garage doors to play off of the driveway ... Read More

What I Value in a Home, and it isn’t Square Footage
I got this question the other day, "You've always talked about valuing a small home. Why did you decide to get a large home?" I thought I would answer it in a blog post, because it was a great question that some might be wondering too. And answer the question "how many square feet is your new home." I do value small homes. I value ALL homes. What I value most is loving the home you have no matter what it is. We are drawn to older homes that need love, a home we can make better than before. When I started this blog we happened to live in a small 1950's home. So I shared all about that ... Read More
Fireplace with Terracotta Tile
I LOVE a fireplace so much! A fireplace not only adds value it also adds character and charm. So instead of buying a piece of furniture for the wall in our dining room we opted to add a fireplace. I did style it, because I just can't help it. We still need to have the finish work done and the room painted, so keep that in mind as you look at the photos. We did a gas fireplace (this Bayport series). You can easily add an electric fireplace to your current home like we did in our Connecticut home. You can see that electric fireplace with brick and Limewash here. I thrifted everything ... Read More
Season Changes- Summer to Fall Front Porch and Fall Clothes
It is almost that time of year where we start to swap out our summer clothes to fall (bring on the layers, and transition our front porches to a cozy, inviting fall scene! I shared our early fall porch the other day on this post. Yesterday I added some real pumpkins to my tower (same tower I did last year too for pumpkins), some lights and a large plastic pumpkin that I made look like a warty ceramic pumpkin. Check it all out in today's post. Also linking up some of my fall outfit finds from Walmart! Thank you Walmart for sponsoring this post Here is our porch all decked out with ... Read More
Our Kitchen Plans
Finally sharing the plans for our kitchen! I started making calls to have cabinets made back in April. Most everyone was out 6-12 months. Busy season. I found one cabinet company that could make them in about 6 weeks, but they didn't offer some of the custom features we wanted. Thankfully I saw my friend sharing on Instagram her new bathroom and laundry room, I immediately called her reference and luckily he could fit us in! First, let me share what our kitchen space looks like today so you can visualize where everything will go! And for fun, let's look back and what the kitchen looked ... Read More
