We have decided to remodel our home with an add-on!! Eeeek!! Very exciting stuff around here. I have to admit I was nervous about going though with it. We had a realtor come over and give her thoughts and it wasn't what we thought she would say about our home. Our home is not on the "perfect street". One street front or back would be more ideal to remodel and do an add-on. But I disagree. We bought this home. The yard is not one you often find in this area. And the home itself is an emotional purchase. We loved a lot about this house more than others that made us emotionally buy it. And now ... Read More

Laundry Room Makeover with Tempaper Removable Wallpaper and Painted Laminate
I haven't ever made over a laundry room before! Isn't that crazy? Our laundry room is in our un-finished basement, that will never be finished (flood zone). So I thought offering a laundry room makeover to a friend would be a fun way to share something new with you! Personally I LOVE a good laundry room, I am always saving photos of laundry room inspiration and laundry room ideas for my dream laundry room (one day!). So I was ready to take on this space. With any makeover I always start with an inspiration piece, in this space it was the removable wallpaper. This laundry room makeover was fun ... Read More
Five Tips for Family Pictures and Spring Outfits
We took some family pictures the other night. In our normal family picture taking ways, I set up our tripod and we took the pictures ourself. I would love to have a photographer on-hand but it just isn't feasible for the impromptu time everyone happens to be ready. And for some getting a professional can be expensive, I believe anyone can do this themselves! Or ask a friend to trade with you! I suggest taking family pictures while everyone is all ready dressed up, hair brushed and has eaten. We took our pictures after church, typically the only day everyone is completely ready at the same ... Read More
Outdoor Painted Cement Patio Makeover
We are ready to share our speedy outdoor painted patio makeover!! It was a QUICK project. I thought of the idea to paint the cement/patio area on a Saturday. We bought paint and started painting Monday and finished it that same day. It was actually very easy to paint (says the person who watched someone do it). Kevin actually painted the cement. I did draw it out and helped him chalk it off, then cheered him on while he painted. This mini outdoor furniture makeover was part of a commercial I was in for The Christmas Tree Shops. I went and filmed the commercial in February. The ... Read More
Complete Before and After’s- 1100 sq ft Cape- Floor Plan and Future
We have lived in this small cape in Connecticut for a little over 4 years. And what a blessing it has been. We went from 3500 square feet to 1100 square feet. I honestly didn't even think twice about losing the space. I was just excited to have a charming older home. I always wanted one. Kevin actually flew to Connecticut and picked out this home. He did a good job. His favorite part was the yard! Mine was the built-in bookcases and that it was so close to downtown and the walking community. I LOVE that we can walk everywhere. The location was top on my priority list. I knew I could work with ... Read More
Outdoor Furniture Ideas- Seating, Pillows and Dining
Anyone else have spring fever?! Ready to set-up the outdoor furniture (let's chant…no more snow!!) I got super excited when I saw all the new outdoor furniture on Target's website! Plus on Tuesday we painted our lower deck area to create another space for us to enjoy our backyard with outdoor furniture, we are getting ready! We love our deck, but noticed we sat down in the outdoor chairs in the lower area so we could interact with our kids and watch them as they played in the yard. That's my biggest tip- create a nice space for outdoor furniture in the area you spend the most time! ... Read More
Winter Master Bedroom and Christmas Kids Room
Today we are going to look into two bedrooms in our little cape! Our master bedroom- turned into a Winter Master Bedroom. And Finn's bedroom all decked out for a fun Kids Christmas Bedroom! I shouldn't say "all decked out" I added a couple little things. But he does have a really cute tree so it feels decked out and super festive. We spend a lot of time in both of these room's, so I love to add some twinkle lights and a little Christmas decor. Actually in a small, 1200 square foot home you spend a lot of time in EVERY ROOM! I am also joining 15 other bloggers to share their Christmas ... Read More
