Our DIY In-Ground Trampoline
I love finding any way that I can to encourage outdoor play! One of the things in our backyard that gets daily use is our trampoline. We've had it several years and the kids never seem to tire of it. Listening to them be active and having fun together will never get old for me either! It was a must for us to keep it when we started our backyard remodel and we decided to make our yard not feel crowded by putting our trampoline in-ground. When we made a swimming pool part of our renovation plans, it meant re-imagining our entire backyard space. Since the back hoe was here anyway, it was the ... Read More
House Details- Molding, Shiplap, Paint, Doors, Woven Shades and More
Creating a cozy home--especially with new construction or with a renovation-- is really in the finishing details. I wanted these details to come together in a way that felt like they'd been here all along and also be unique and modern. These small particulars can be overlooked by so many, but I get asked about them all the time--which makes me so happy! So I thought I would just do a blog post dedicated to all the "house details"! From the exact shiplap, doors, door hardware, paint and more! Let me know if I missed something! (Curtain rod HERE and Curtain Panels are older, ... Read More
Master Bathroom Reveal with Claw Foot Tub
If I am totally honest, when we bought this home, one thing that I felt like I "gave up" was a private master bathroom. We'd been spoiled with this luxury in all of our previous homes. I was worried how I'd feel having the room that I bathed in also be the room guests used when they stop by. Still, we loved the bones of this home and we chose location and schools over size of home, and made it work. We made some improvements when we moved in to this main floor bathroom and I found myself quickly adjusting to using the hallway to get to my room. No biggie! When given the ... Read More
Our New Back Door and Wayfair Sale
We are working on finishing our back deck this week, the weather looks like it just might be spring with temperatures about 60. Looking forward to soaking up some vitamin D. Thought we would start by decorating our back door! I ordered our light for our deck about 6 weeks ago and they were installed last week. Love them! And we got a new back door, it was a must-have with our remodel changes. Although I loved our previous back door, the new door is a big upgrade from our old 1950's door that wasn't very energy efficient. I originally wanted a dutch door, but the one I ordered was back-ordered ... Read More
We got a POOL!!!
We made the decision to add a pool about 2 months ago. Looking at our current situation with the stay at home orders, it has been a blessing, something to look forward to. And I hate to even share this for fear it sounds insensitive to others situations. We had money saved and set aside for this pool and spent time deciding if we should do it. It really isn't something you get your money back for. But we will get a return on our investment with TIME and memories for our family. They started the process of digging the hole on April 6th, and it typically takes about two weeks to have it up and ... Read More

Remodel & Elevations PLUS What I Bought from Serena & Lily Black Friday SALE
You are not alone if you have found yourself wondering if we are REALLY going to do our renovation! I shared WAY back on August 4th that we were going to do an addition to our home (on this post). Everything always takes a bit longer than you wish it would. I have been sharing on Instagram Stories the progress, and a lot of progress has been made this week!!! We did decide on a contractor so that was a big update that I never shared. We had two bids, one was about 50k more than the other and we had worked with contractor that was less anyways, and really like him, he has done other things for ... Read More
Kitchen Shelf Styling- DIY Open Shelves with Affordable Decor
While we were making over Luke's room, (that I talked about on the blog Monday) I wandered around to the rest of the home (naturally) and noticed how great their kitchen was! They recently made it over in April, with all Ikea cabinets. It looked great. But the dining space was just missing the finishing touches. They had built-in an awesome sideboard, but Rachel (homeowner) hadn't decorated it at all, it was empty. As soon as I saw it I knew shelves would be PERFECT in the dining space. I had literally styled the shelves in my head in the 2 minutes of her showing me the space. Rachel had ... Read More
We are Remodeling our Home! See our Design Plans….
We have decided to remodel our home with an add-on!! Eeeek!! Very exciting stuff around here. I have to admit I was nervous about going though with it. We had a realtor come over and give her thoughts and it wasn't what we thought she would say about our home. Our home is not on the "perfect street". One street front or back would be more ideal to remodel and do an add-on. But I disagree. We bought this home. The yard is not one you often find in this area. And the home itself is an emotional purchase. We loved a lot about this house more than others that made us emotionally buy it. And now ... Read More
