I think I would be okay if we never brought another toy into the house. Anyone else? Okay, okay, I will admit that it does bring me joy to watch Finn place his Paw Patrols on the crosses on his rug, so I am okay with some toys as long as they are well-loved and used. In my years of being a mom, though, I've noticed that MOST of the time my kids have more fun with activity or experience gifts! This year with all of us spending more time at our homes, there hasn't been a better time to give the gift of time together and activities! I complied some great gift ideas for Easter (that are ... Let me show you some of my tips from some past makeovers we did. Bedroom Rugs- Tip- Depending in room size, rug should extend about 2' to ... Read More

Our Brick Wall, PS- we painted it white
We did it. We painted the brick in our kitchen. Our plan the entire time was to paint the brick. That is the reason we put the brick in. We wanted some texture and extra charm. Best part we were able to use the brick that was original to the home. I actually told Kevin I wanted to do brick in the kitchen right when we started the plants for the addition, and little did we know brick would fall into our lap! When we took out the chimney in our kitchen, (it was used for the furnace) we discovered it was an all brick chimney that was in good shape! As they started to remove the chimney, I ... Read More
Our new Master Closet- Ikea Pax System
I can't believe that we have a master closet!!!! We had a small closet in our "master bedroom" that only my minimal clothes would fit in. And then Kevin had his clothes in his an a small Ikea wardrobe in Finn's bedroom and his shoes were in Finn's closet. We made it work for about 4 years. Then we decided to add- onto our kitchen and the entire back of our home about 9 feet back. We made space for a master bathroom and this master closet! Which feels extra fancy to have!! Below are photos of our separate closets before- Kevin was actually the one to put together the plan for the Ikea ... Read More

And we still need the kick plate on the base of the cabinets. Our ... Read More

Nestle Down Ideas- When you are Stuck at Home!
I have 13 things you could do right now while we are all nestled in at home. If you are like me achieving things gives me energy and boosts my mood. Do one small thing a day, especially if you have kids at home and you are trying to be a teacher too (praise to all the teachers!!!). Don't get overwhelmed but I think we could all benefit if we do something. We have rain in our forecast and rather than cry (which I might do too) I am going to have the kids help us get the house ready, so when the sun shines we can head out and enjoy it. Focus on what we CAN do not what we can't do! 13 Nestle Down ... Read More
