We were in Orlando Florida this past week. We went to Disney Land, Universal and Animal Kingdom. I didn't want to do an entire post about it- but I did want to talk a little about taking Family Pictures while on vacation and getting good ones with a stranger taking them! It was an issue for us the very first photo then I learned from my mistake and the rest were much better! I will say one thing- Universal was awesome! Harry Potter World was impressive and we were able to do a lot more rides than we did at Disney because of the long lines. The vote was Ella (9 almost 10 year old) and ... Read More

Top Blog Posts of 2017 and Why they were the Top
2017, you were a good one! As I went to write this blog post all about my "Top Blog Posts of 2017" I thought I would also share the WHY. Why I think or know what made them successful. Blogs are kind of a mystery and interesting at the same time, so I thought some might want to know a little more of the details. These top blog posts are not just what I liked the most or what I think should on the top. They were taken right from Google Anyalitcs, some were a surprise and some I knew would make the Top Ten. I define success in so many ways. A lot is based off of happiness. What does ... Read More
Friday Favorites starts with a little Fall and Small Space Living
I am warning you now- I will be sharing some Christmas Ideas on Tuesday next week! (I know it is early, but I want to share earlier than latter to give you all ideas). So before Christmas takes over- here is a little bit more Fall in our Kitchen, maybe some Thanksgiving inspiration. I personally like a greenery and twinkle lights at Thanksgiving too! I was looking through my photos- so funny how much this space changes just with little touches. I am talking about all my favorite things from the week- sales and an interview I did about small space living. I was interviewed by Wayfair about ... Read More
Friday Favorites starts with Where I go for Home Decor Inspiration
Where do you go for home decor inspiration? There are SO many places to be inspired in this world, we are truly blessed. I am kind-of a home body. I don't need to leave my home much. I leave to workout and occasionally grocery shop (I want to do Insta-cart so I don't even have to do that!). My husband he likes to get out. He was off on Monday this week and he wanted to go out to lunch and kept asking if I needed to stop anywhere. So I said sure. Let's stop by Serena & Lily, one of my favorite shops and Trader Joe's. I am sure glad we stopped. It was just the inspiration I needed, ... Read More
Friday Favorites starts with Design Style
I had to write a little blurb about me and my design style. I always freeze up. Because I don't want to pigeon hole myself into one "style". Because honestly I really appreciate and love so many styles. Do you ever wonder why you do things to your home? Like why do I gravitate towards THAT pillow or putting things together a certain way? I think it does have a lot to do with what we see, read, how we grew up, something that speaks to our soul. That is what makes up our design style. To me homes should be designed with a purpose. It could just be something simple as "because it makes us ... Read More
Fall Table Setting- Using What You Have
I love a simple, easy table setting. A table setting with pieces that I already have, all mixed together to create a place everyone feels comfortable and special to be at our table. This table setting actually reminds me of my mom. She always clips sunflowers from the yard and has them on the table in vases she found at second hand stores. I know she influenced me on how I decorate today and for sure influenced the "use what you have" way of thinking. She is about focusing on connecting and loving on her guests than fussing over a big fancy table. She is the most caring person and the way she ... Read More
Friday Favorites starts with Cutting Boards
Friends. Friends and Cutting Boards. That sounds like I am going to say all the ways friends are like cutting boards. No. Just my friends visited last week for one day, really like 6 hours. My friends appreciate the little details in my home and tell me! I do the same for them. It gave me a boost to have them visit and also left me missing them and a little sad. I do have friends in CT but I feel like the friends I have here already have their really good friends they have known forever and family close. Most people in our area grew up here and know everyone. I remember when we moved to CT ... Read More
Outdoor Patio- Now we REALLY love it!
We had a yard sale or "tag sale" as they call it in Connecticut. I wanted it to be good, I knew I had some blog readers coming, friends and social media friends, I didn't want them to be disappointed! So I put out a lot of things I wasn't really planning on, like the outdoor patio furniture we had at the time. I put out the patio table first because it was a little damaged. Then I added the red chairs and the sectional too! I was ready for a change and had some ideas in my mind that I thought would be better for our family. We made some quick decisions when we originally moved in and we didn't ... Read More

Friday Favorites starts with a Solution to Light Rugs
Are you a no-shoe house? I like our family to take them off but I never ask guests to remove their shoes. Do you? I mean I can see why some people do. Light rugs can be really hard to keep clean! We try not to wear shoes in Finn's nursery but sometimes we end up walking in with them on. Or Finn will bring a big thing of dish soap into his room and pour it on the rug. No? That doesn't happen to you? Well luckily I did catch him before it got too messy, but there was still a spot. So I was pretty thrilled to discover a new rug line! Lorena Canals washable rugs! They have a lot of great ... Read More
