We are ready to share our speedy outdoor painted patio makeover!! It was a QUICK project. I thought of the idea to paint the cement/patio area on a Saturday. We bought paint and started painting Monday and finished it that same day. It was actually very easy to paint (says the person who watched someone do it). Kevin actually painted the cement. I did draw it out and helped him chalk it off, then cheered him on while he painted. This mini outdoor furniture makeover was part of a commercial I was in for The Christmas Tree Shops. I went and filmed the commercial in February. The ... Read More
New Home Decor Collection with Drew Barrymore and Walmart
In December I got to go and see a new home decor collection from Drew Barrymore and Walmart! I actually did not know who the celebrity was before I went. I agreed to do a room with her new furniture (I saw an idea board of most of it) but didn't know who designed it. All they said was "her celerity status is as recognizable as Oprah". We were making a lot of guesses and never guessed Drew Barrymore! I was just super excited to see the collection in person. It reminded me of Anthropolgie, but I knew it would be a 3rd of the price! Let's just say….. I LOVED it all! Today is the day it is ... Read More
Mini Sunroom Makeover with Electric Fireplace
I have done a lot of projects in this home that belongs to friends who live around the corner from us. They have a small cape like we do, but they have this nice bonus sunroom, which is a welcome and used space! It was just lacking in style and coziness. All it really needed was some new window treatments, ceiling fan and open up the floor space with a smaller built-in electric fireplace! Let's look at the sunroom before. If you know me, you know I was itching to get my hands on it. Especially since I knew that little changes would make such a difference! We would love an extra space like ... Read More
Master Bedroom Makeover with Home Office
Master Bedroom Makeover coming at you today! This bedroom has been a long time in the making! I made over this then clients home (now friend) when we moved to Connecticut about 3 years ago. I looked at doing her entire home and knew we would do it in stages, with the master bedroom being last on the list. Isn't that always the case? I do agree that you want to do your main living areas first, then tackle the bedrooms. But how nice would it be to have a sanctuary to relax in first? You might remember this home, everything is was thrifted! And this master bedroom is no exception, besides a ... Read More
Complete Before and After’s- 1100 sq ft Cape- Floor Plan and Future
We have lived in this small cape in Connecticut for a little over 4 years. And what a blessing it has been. We went from 3500 square feet to 1100 square feet. I honestly didn't even think twice about losing the space. I was just excited to have a charming older home. I always wanted one. Kevin actually flew to Connecticut and picked out this home. He did a good job. His favorite part was the yard! Mine was the built-in bookcases and that it was so close to downtown and the walking community. I LOVE that we can walk everywhere. The location was top on my priority list. I knew I could work with ... Read More
Bath Bombs- All Natural- DIY
My kids LOVE them a bath bomb. Anyone else? I love bath salts and typically avoided bath bombs because I was worried about the perfumes and funky ingredients. So why would I let my kids use them you ask? Ha! Good question. Typically they were a gift and I let them use them. Until the other day when Lola used a bath bomb that was given to her and she came out of the tub with red splotchy skin. And itching all over. So never again. Unless we DIY our own Bath Bomb. And we did just that! This is a really simple recipe. We even left the bath bombs all white because I didn't want to use food ... Read More
Entry Makeover with Removable Wallpaper and No Closet
Ready for an entry makeover? I have one today that might give you some ideas for your own entry. My friend, Brenda reached out to me wanting to update her entry and asked what wallpaper I would suggest. Hard for me to just suggest something….so I offered to do a mini makeover for her! She lives in a rental and has for almost 10 years, she would love to buy it! But since it is a rental we decided that removable wallpaper would be the quickest and smartest way to add some character to her space. Her entry is also lacking an entry closet. So I came up with a couple ways to add some storage and ... Read More

Outdoor Furniture Ideas- Seating, Pillows and Dining
Anyone else have spring fever?! Ready to set-up the outdoor furniture (let's chant…no more snow!!) I got super excited when I saw all the new outdoor furniture on Target's website! Plus on Tuesday we painted our lower deck area to create another space for us to enjoy our backyard with outdoor furniture, we are getting ready! We love our deck, but noticed we sat down in the outdoor chairs in the lower area so we could interact with our kids and watch them as they played in the yard. That's my biggest tip- create a nice space for outdoor furniture in the area you spend the most time! ... Read More
10 Things You Could Do Without in Your Home
One of the top things I get asked about whenever I share our kitchen "behind the scenes" is how I live without paper towels, paper napkins and a microwave! It is just part of our life that I never once thought was different, until you started asking me about it. Or when we have a house guest looking for a paper towel to dry their hands. Or they question if they really can use the cloth napkins at dinner "are they not just for decoration?" We actually do just great without those items. I thought I would share the why and how we survive. I rounded it up to 10 things that you could probably ... Read More
