I picked up Better Homes and Garden Magazine the other day. It was a special edition Flea Market issue. You know when you pick up a magazine at the grocery store and you can pretty much soak in enough to be satisfied. Not this time. I had to buy it. Glad I did because I found a couple new Favorite Instagram Accounts to follow! I thought I would share them with you for my Friday Favorites and a couple others that I loved this week. To me this is a testament that looking at what others create gets your juices flowing and excited about YOUR space. Not comparing what you have to others. #1- ... Read More
Kids Art and Photo Wall and Hp Sprocket Printer/Camera
This post is sponsored by Hp First day of school here in Connecticut for my girls! Both of them are very excited. Personally I love having them around and get teary eyed whenever I think of them starting back. I don't know why, because I am fresh out of ideas for them to do! But it will be good to get back to productive schedules. Before school started I try to get things organized and establish systems. Where backpacks go, lunch boxes, papers when they come in the door (we try to stick to a paper-less policy here) and where the art projects will hang. I frame some of their art, but there ... Apple Artisan Bread Recipe- Fall Baking
Apple recipes are my favorite. They are hard for me to turn down. If a restaurant dessert menu says the word apple I don't need to read anymore. I'll take it! I have shared my favorite Paleo Apple Crisp before, the one we make over and over. So today you are getting another easy apple recipe. The easiest bread recipe just got a little sweeter with some apples and cinnamon. You know my Mom's Famous Artisan Bead Recipe? We have shared 6 different mix-in's you can try and it needed an apple version. This actually turned out way better than I thought it would! My kids loved it. I joined up with ... Read More
Friday Favorites- Slowly adding Fall Decor
I wanted to share a quick message with you today that a sweet reader sent me after I shared some simple Fall decor updates I have been making to our home. "It's a good to remember that the stuff we already own can be "fixed" to be exactly what we need." That could mean a lot of different things. From painting a table we already have, to cleaning our homes, or simply adding a new pillow to our beds instead of thinking we need an entirely new bed or sofa! I am personally testing out and experimenting with my Fall Home Decor Trend predictions and slowly adding some little changes. For ... Read More
Trader Joe’s Shopping List- Top 40 Items
We love a stop at Trader Joe's! It doesn't feel like grocery shopping to me. Because I really do not enjoy grocery shopping, but I like Trader Joe's. Maybe Trader Joes' is fun because I know I get flowers every time or a little plant. Maybe because it is a smaller scale grocery store it goes quicker. Or maybe it is because the food you buy is specialty you feel special and excited for what you get to eat! What is it?? I shared a post HERE about what I buy from Trader Joe's and recipes we make over and over. And a lot of request came after for a Shopping List. Also none of the things I ... Read More
How to make a DIY Chalkboard- Outdoor or Indoor
This post is a little overdue! I totally forgot that some of you wanted our easy chalkboard tutorial on how we made a quick DIY chalkboard for our garden space. We figured out how to make our own simple chalkboard out of necessity. Our fence seemed like it needed something in the space to the right of our nesting box. And not to mention an outdoor chalkboard is a fun thing for kids to use. Our kids haven't used it much because we were gone for 5 weeks after we made it. A DIY chalkboard would really be fun by an area where you have outdoor sports to keep track of scores! We actually ... Read More
Friday Favorites- 10 Fall Home Decor Trends 2018
For Friday Favorites today I had to jump on sharing some Fall ideas. I took a poll in Instagram stories and 81% of you are ready for Fall! That surprised me! Fall decor doesn't mean go to the nearest home decor/hobby store and buy a bunch of faux pumpkins, signs, faux leaves etc. Or bringing up a container from the basement with a bunch of accessories that you add on top of what you already have. I searched online for common trends I noticed for Fall Home Decor this year- 2018. There is definitely a strong Fall Trend. And oh yes, it makes me very excited! What about you?? But not ready to ... I am back with a Small Space Living Feature. I am very excited about this small living tour, you will not believe this RV! Lauren from @thearrowanglers her hubby and baby are living in a 300 square foot RV and she shares why they made the move from an 800 square foot home with us today. As for me I walked away from this blog post today thinking less is so much more! I have a tendency to collect too much- even with clothes, which is ok- it is just about taking something out when you bring in more. Also this ... Read More
Blogging Q&A – Do Bloggers Make Money and other Frequently asked Questions
I recently went to an event, HGTV Block Party and spoke on a panel. This was my first experience speaking on a panel about Nesting with Grace. I was eager to do it because I am happy to share any in-sight I can. I am that person that questions everything. And I want to know what is really going on behind the scenes. I thought I would share the questions I was asked at this event and elaborate on my answers. This will shed some light on what I do to make money and if bloggers really do make money? And HOW do bloggers make money? And if you are interested in blogging hopefully it will be a tool ... Read More
Deck- Switching from Lattice to Slats and How we Clean our Deck
We have wanted to change the lattice below the deck in our backyard for awhile now. We noticed how badly it needed an update when we changed the exterior of our home to the white shake shingle impressions. I wrote a big blog post all about the inspiration we found just in our neighborhood. Instead of the lattice there were so many great ideas to do horizontal slats rather than the lattice. I honestly thought this project seemed SO big, we would have to hire a professional big. Wrong. Kevin is the "professional". I tell you what this guy just gets after it. And he is self-taught, there wasn't ... Read More
