For Friday Favorites today I had to jump on sharing some Fall ideas. I took a poll in Instagram stories and 81% of you are ready for Fall! That surprised me! Fall decor doesn't mean go to the nearest home decor/hobby store and buy a bunch of faux pumpkins, signs, faux leaves etc. Or bringing up a container from the basement with a bunch of accessories that you add on top of what you already have. I searched online for common trends I noticed for Fall Home Decor this year- 2018. There is definitely a strong Fall Trend. And oh yes, it makes me very excited! What about you?? But not ready to ... Small Space Living Feature- You won’t believe this RV!
I am back with a Small Space Living Feature. I am very excited about this small living tour, you will not believe this RV! And not only how charming it is but you can see they are thriving living small. Lauren from @thearrowanglers her hubby and baby are living in a 300 square foot RV and she shares why they made the move from an 800 square foot home with us today. As for me I walked away from this blog post today thinking less is so much more! I have a tendency to collect too much- even with clothes, which is ok- it is just about taking something out when you bring in more. Also this ... Read More
Blogging Q&A – Do Bloggers Make Money and other Frequently asked Questions
I recently went to an event, HGTV Block Party and spoke on a panel. This was my first experience speaking on a panel about Nesting with Grace. I was eager to do it because I am happy to share any in-sight I can. I am that person that questions everything. And I want to know what is really going on behind the scenes. I thought I would share the questions I was asked at this event and elaborate on my answers. This will shed some light on what I do to make money and if bloggers really do make money? And HOW do bloggers make money? And if you are interested in blogging hopefully it will be a tool ... Read More
Deck- Switching from Lattice to Slats and How we Clean our Deck
We have wanted to change the lattice below the deck in our backyard for awhile now. We noticed how badly it needed an update when we changed the exterior of our home to the white shake shingle impressions. I wrote a big blog post all about the inspiration we found just in our neighborhood. Instead of the lattice there were so many great ideas to do horizontal slats rather than the lattice. I honestly thought this project seemed SO big, we would have to hire a professional big. Wrong. Kevin is the "professional". I tell you what this guy just gets after it. And he is self-taught, there wasn't ... Read More
Favorite Home Purchases- Basically my Wedding Registry
Do you ever stop and appreciate little things that you have? I did the other day. I was opening the door to our front hall closet and I thought I am SO happy we changed out all our door knobs. It was a purchase that maybe wasn't the most-fun to make, but it saves us so much frustration. The doorknob used to fall off every other day and then we would have to go and find a tool to get it back on and even be able to open the door. I should have done it a long time ago. It got me thinking what else did I put-off buying but now am so happy we did! I asked Kevin what he thought and shared his idea ... Read More
Smashed Sweet Potatoes- My Favorite Side Dish
I don't know if shared before that Kevin is a wonderful cook and a creative one too! We both cook but he is the one to cook dinner most often. We are a team and both do a lot of the house stuff that includes cooking, so why not send in the best player! My favorite thing he makes is Smashed Sweet Potatoes. I request these often! They make the perfect healthy, paleo, gluten-free side dish. And this is about the only way my kids like to eat sweet potatoes, well besides in fry form. I always say give me a sweet potato and I am a happy camper. When I started eating a strict paleo diet sweet ... Read More
Bee Keeping- Must Read before getting BEES!
My parents have had a beehive for about 3 years now. This past month when we were visiting Utah we got to watch them harvest the honey! They ended up getting about 40 lbs of honey this year! After watching the process I realized why raw natural honey is so expensive. It is A LOT of work to harvest the honey, let alone keep the bees happy and producing all year! It was such a neat experience for my kids to see and myself. I received a lot of questions as I was sharing videos of the process on Instagram. So I asked my parents all of your most common questions on Bee Keeping. I learned a lot ... Read More
Friday Favorites starts with New Home Decor
Home. Absence makes the heart grow fonder. Even with our homes. I actually didn't need to grow fonder of our home. but going away for 5 weeks really makes you miss it! We went to Utah to visit family and friends and to do a little traveling, so we were missing our own space. I really missed my tub and our little kitchen. As you know I really like to style my home and play around with home decor. It is a hobby and also my career. I think some of you might share the same hobby. And hobbies typically cost money....right?:) One way to get better at styling your home and using home decor is to ... Read More
Pantry Makeover with Wallpaper Shelves
This post is sponsored by The Home Depot One of my best friends just moved from Texas back to Utah where they are originally from. They moved back to their old home but quickly realized how much they missed their large Texas home for their family of six. So they got a slightly larger home and this new home came with an awesome walk-in pantry. But she had never had a large walk-in pantry and it was a little overwhelming. The pantry just became a catch-all because it is so large there is room to just set things wherever. Rachel asked me when I was visiting Utah to help her organize it. It was ... Read More
Answers to Most Asked Bedding Questions
Bedding is one of my favorite subjects to chat about. I am pretty passionate about making the bed. I make my bed every morning, as soon as I get out of bed. Sheets get pulled up, quilt, duvet fluffed and pillows punched. Best way to start your day with something accomplished. But not all bed making is equal. Sure any bed looks better made. But if you want it fluffy I have a trick for you. If you want it simple and to make a statement, I have your back! I asked for you to share the bedding questions you have been dying to have answered. And you all delivered! I got 100+ questions all ... Read More
