I pulled together our guest room in time for Kevin's dad, step mom and younger brother (who is Lola's age) to come and stay a couple weekends ago. They came again this past weekend, they live about 4 hours away and we love having them. We know we will have lots of guests in the future! I put together a design plan for this room and I am very excited to get it started! I used what I had to make their guest room cozy and welcoming for now. While I had essentials for them and a good base, it needed to be pulled together. I had ordered this rug awhile ago, because I liked it. But I broke my ... Read More
Affordable (Primary) Bedroom Makeover
My sister, Mandy, just moved into a new home and we are very excited for her and the changes in her life! She is 6 years my younger and fully trusts me when I ask "Can I makeover your new bedroom?" She has several areas to work on, as one does when you move into a new home. I was excited we could take this on for her! I actually took the challenge to find everything from Walmart.com and only spent around $1000! Thank you Walmart for sponsoring this post Primary Bedroom Before- Not a bad start for living here two days! We moved this rug into one of the kids bedrooms and used the ... Read More
Our Primary Bedroom- Utah Ranch Home
Our bedroom was the last bedroom we finished decorating, I am excited to finally share it with you! When we bought this 1970's home this bedroom was covered in a floral wallpaper, with matching curtains and coordinating orange carpet. While I LOVE and appreciate the effort put into the original bedroom, it was time for an update! We had the wallpaper removed and changed up the footprint of the en-suite bathroom. I will share the bathroom soon, but today I am sharing the bedroom! Bedroom Before- Bedroom After- We even had extra space for a mini seating area! I like an ... Read More
Valentine Gift Ideas and Favorite Romance Novels
Wanted to share a few things that I have been loving lately...perfect for LOVE month! Fun finds to treat yourself or someone that you adore! Something that I truly love is listening to a good book, they seem to have a reoccurring theme these days...romance! Some are lighthearted and silly and some are love stories to stand the test of time. hope you enjoy them as much as I do! For a simple Valentine or early spring decor idea, pick up a few Heather plants at your local grocery store (Trader Joe's has them too). I placed them still in their grow pot inside a low planter on top of this ... Read More
Our Kitchen Shelves and Shelf Styling Tips
I LOVE open shelves in a kitchen. We don't have any upper cabinets. The cups and mugs on the shelves are what we use to drink out of, so they don't have time to collect dust! And we use the cutting boards to serve off of too. Our plates and bowls are in a drawer in our island. I snapped some photos after I took down our Christmas decor of just our kitchen shelves! Sharing some photos and sources at the end of the post. We start with leaning art or cutting boards as a backdrop. You can see on every shelf (I consider the bottom shelf the counter) I have something leaning to break up the ... Read More

Basement Wet Bar- Pink Fridge and Yellow Backsplash
When we bought this 1970's ranch home half of the basement wasn't finished. The part that was unfinished was by the walk out basement door. Which was a win because we wanted to add a wet bar that had easy access to the backyard and pool. We imagine playing outside, and or swimming and running down the steps to the pink fridge to get a beverage and a cup with a scoop of pebble ice! And thankfully that vision came to life! I planned this wet bar around this Pink Smeg fridge. I wanted to put a pink fridge in our Connecticut kitchen but in the end decided to stick with the classic white. ... Read More

We just got back from an amazing trip to Maui! Kevin surprised me for my Birthday gift and invited our family and a few friends to come with us! Thoughtful gift giver he is! We have been to Maui a couple times and basically do the same things every trip! We referenced this Maui Blog Post I wrote a few years ago, it has all our favorite things to do, eat and the best beaches in Maui. Today I am just sharing photos from the trip, like a personal journal entry (get ready for photo explosion) and also answering your frequently asked questions as well as links to things I wore. This was the ... Read More
Our Entry with Rock Wall- Utah Ranch Home
All the way back in March we made over our entry wall. It was a huge project that took a lot of time to get right. Our goal was to modernized the rock. We didn't want to remove the rock completely because we loved the texture and character. Thankfully it ended up working out and we absolutely love it, and we especially love it now with the furniture and decor! It still has that 1970's Ranch style feel. Ready to see what it looks like now when you walk into our home?? Entry Before- Entry After- The after! You can see exactly what we did to the rock wall on this post. We did add ... Read More
Small Wallpaper Bathroom- Utah Ranch Home
When we bought this 1970's fixer upper there was a really small bathroom off the garage. Basically the size of an airplane bathroom. Now it's double the size 2.5"x9', we just took out a closet we didn't need. The bathroom is still small, and still has wallpaper! I fell in love with the (new) wallpaper we used for this bathroom instantly! It matches the colors and feel that I want for our home, just wish it was in a more prominent spot! It is like a hidden gem in our home-a sweet surprise when you go to the bathroom. It works perfect, right off our green kitchen and mustard ... Read More
