Our backyard has had some major work done this year. We have loved taking you along with the transformation we have been dreaming of and saving for since we moved in five years ago! You may think that with cooler temperatures and shorter days on their way, we may be thinking of packing up the backyard and heading in for the year. NO WAY! Just because summer is shortly coming to a close, doesn’t mean that we will stop using this fun new space. Even before the updates, this has always been our favorite place to play together as a family! I snapped some photos of the yard and deck the other ... Read More

Little Girl gets a Bedroom
Did you see the kitchen post we did? Where we gave a friend (who is going through a divorce) some furniture and decor. I can only imagine how she feels with so many changes in her life, plus she is a school teacher trying to navigate all the changes. She is an amazing mom and trying to keep things as "normal" as she can for her sweet girls. And that means leaving most everything at their previous home with the kids Dad. Two of the three girls have beds and the littlest (who is Finn's friend) didn't have anything yet. I knew that our old girl's bed would be perfect for her with a few new ... Read More
Our Nontoxic Mattress Review and Most Recommended
Have you noticed that we are on a journey to ditching all toxins in our home? It really started years ago when I started to clean my house with vinegar and I began to ditch sugars and other things from my diet. Once you know something is toxic just do better with each NEW purchase. No need to panic. I am not 100% toxic-free, I still get my hair colored and nails occasionally done. But I really try to be the gatekeeper for my family. Our most recent switch was our mattresses to toxic-free. Friends, all of these changes have taken TIME to adopt. If you are on this journey or considering ... Read More
Shiplap Kitchen Makeover
My favorite thing about home decor is making something better than before. Not perfect. But making simple changes that completely transform the feel of a space. When I heard my friend and neighbor was getting a divorce and leaving everything in their current home so the girls would be comfortable when they were at their Dad's, I instantly wanted to make her new place even better than what she had before. My sweet friend is the most positive person, even at a time when she could chose hate. She is also a school teacher, always blessing others. She deserved to be blessed. Thank you Home ... Read More
Girls Bedding Refresh- New Beds
The term "refresh" is one that is frequently used in the design world. It is really the perfect way to describe those little changes that breath new life into a space without completely redesigning it or buying all new items. Often, you can just move things around in your home for a fresh feel. Or even get fluffy nice inserts in your pillows! Plant anyone? It is always amazing what just a few changes like that does for a room! Ours ended up turning into a slightly bigger refresh, not intentionally…. Thank you to The Company Store for sponsoring this post. The girl's room was about due ... Read More
Outdoor Shower
First comes love… I mean sun, then comes a pool, then comes an outdoor shower booth! Isn't that how it goes? 😉 We actually have wanted an outdoor shower for awhile, even without a pool. We live so close to the beach, so having a spot to quickly rinse off sandy feet is a really nice addition! With our remodel it was a perfect time to add one to the side of our home. We really didn't have the best spot, because of our deck addition, so decided to make a spot at the backyard entrance. It is in front of our gate, and it ended up looking great from the front too! Little a little shower booth! ... Read More
Parents Master Bedroom Makeover- Horizontal Board and Batten
When we went to see family recently we made sure to schedule in a makeover for my parents. It was a shorter trip than usual, we really wanted to make time to do this makeover for my parents master bedroom. They still live in the home I grew up in and I love the nostalgia, but over the past couple of years, they have done a lot of updates to make this home work for their new stage of life. At Christmas, you may remember that we gave them an electric fireplace, made over their guest room (where we stay when we visit), and spruced up their family room. My parents are such hard workers and ... Read More

Upstairs Family Room Update
There are no accidents. When we began our home renovations last fall, we discovered an original brick chimney that extended from our kitchen to the upstairs family room. It had to come down to make room for our banquette plans and therefore left a gaping hole in our upstairs family room. You can see the chimney in the photo below, covered in removable brick wallpaper... If you missed it, we decided to add the brick from our old chimney to a wall in our kitchen. It was meant to be and I love the brick wall! It didn't really solve the hole in the family room, though. We had a couple options ... Read More
