Looking around I noticed I have a slight obsession with stools! Thought they deserved a blog post! Some of the rooms I haven't finished decorating yet in our home, like our dining room and primary bathroom. But wanted to share these happy corners, that are finished! A stool is a great way to complete a space, while also being functional. This is a spot in our dining room, which I haven't finished decorating. But we needed something to fill in this empty wall, and this console (I bought that color on clearance) is the perfect thing, plus another place to serve food! But, it did feel empty ... Read More
Home Office- Utah Home
When we bought this 1970's Ranch home there was one large room when you walked in the front door. Part of it was an entry that stepped down to large room that was used for a formal living room and a dining room. I did like how open it was, but we really didn't need a formal living room. What we did need was a home office. So we decided to build a wall to separate the large open room and create a dining room and an office. We have been using this home office for 3 months now and it is the MOST used room in our home!!!!! We use it as mine and Kevin's office, along with my sister and mom who ... Read More
Valentine Charcuterie Board, Serving Favorites and Gift Idea
Treat yourself and those you love with a Valentine's board! This snack board was kept super simple with just sweets, crackers, cheese and fruit. No cutting needed! I linked this board and some of my favorite serving favorites below, along with a sweet Valentine's gift idea! My tips for a charcuterie board is just like my design tip for open shelf styling- Repeat similar colors! I put out any bowls first, then add my cheese's, cracker's and then start filling in colors trying to not have similar colors next to each other often. I think that Trader Joe's is the easiest and cheapest ... Read More
Bedding Round-Up and My Favorite Bedding Pieces- King, Queen, and Full
I often get questions on how I get our bedding to look so fluffy and cozy! Today I am sharing how I make all our beds. Honestly a good quality insert is the key to making your bed look really good. Also, the right size of bedding pieces can make or break your bed. For instance I use an oversized knitted blanket at the end of the beds, if they were a smaller throw blanket it wouldn't look the same. Keep reading for all my bedding tips and favorites... Linen Quilt (warm brown)- I have used this quilt in at least 5 makeovers! I love it. Soft and kind of silk-like texture one one side, with ... Read More
Guest Room Now, Plans and Daybed Options
I pulled together our guest room in time for Kevin's dad, step mom and younger brother (who is Lola's age) to come and stay a couple weekends ago. They came again this past weekend, they live about 4 hours away and we love having them. We know we will have lots of guests in the future! I put together a design plan for this room and I am very excited to get it started! I used what I had to make their guest room cozy and welcoming for now. While I had essentials for them and a good base, it needed to be pulled together. I had ordered this rug awhile ago, because I liked it. But I broke my ... Read More

Our Primary Bedroom- Utah Ranch Home
Our bedroom was the last bedroom we finished decorating, I am excited to finally share it with you! When we bought this 1970's home this bedroom was covered in a floral wallpaper, with matching curtains and coordinating orange carpet. While I LOVE and appreciate the effort put into the original bedroom, it was time for an update! We had the wallpaper removed and changed up the footprint of the en-suite bathroom. I will share the bathroom soon, but today I am sharing the bedroom! Bedroom Before- Bedroom After- We even had extra space for a mini seating area! I like an ... Read More

Our Kitchen Shelves and Shelf Styling Tips
I LOVE open shelves in a kitchen. We don't have any upper cabinets. The cups and mugs on the shelves are what we use to drink out of, so they don't have time to collect dust! And we use the cutting boards to serve off of too. Our plates and bowls are in a drawer in our island. I snapped some photos after I took down our Christmas decor of just our kitchen shelves! Sharing some photos and sources at the end of the post. We start with leaning art or cutting boards as a backdrop. You can see on every shelf (I consider the bottom shelf the counter) I have something leaning to break up the ... Read More
