Back to School Teacher Gift Idea with Thieves
I really like buying gifts for others. So when it comes to teachers, I like to think beyond the generic teacher gift and send them with a basket at the start of the year of favorite things. If you’re searching for a healthier, more eco-friendly or simply a more unique teacher appreciation gift, consider one of these ideas! Great way to give thanks right from the start. Teachers are the best. Finn is in kindergarten!!! And I am so thankful for his teacher. She was so sweet when she met him. They do a snack in class and she said that she provides it, so we are including a Target gift card ... Read More

Tile is Being Installed- Help us Pick a Pattern
We have all our tile in and they are starting to install it! YAY!!! Really SO excited. I LOVE all the tile we picked….but one of the tiles I am second guessing. It's the one I have been most excited about too! The tile in question is the Landry Room, we are also calling the Pool Room. I wanted it fun. I wanted it to be unique. But now I am saying to myself, "why couldn't you just pick a normal tile?". I do want to preface this with- I am not worried about getting sick of it, I just want to love it now. I think, once we have the pattern right, I will love it. My girls and Kevin ... Read More
Cedar Wood on our Front Porch and Back Porch with Hanging Daybed
We are very thankful we have a covered front and back porch. That being said, both porches needed some finishing touches. The previous owners, did a great job and finished the ceiling with partial board. We decided to go a step further and add cedar paneling to both the front and back porch. We felt it would pull in the rock on the home and really complete the look. I will say I am appreciating the rock more and more. Front Porch Before and After We love how it turned out! I shared this front porch space before (here), I haven't shared how we added the cedar wood and also what the back ... Read More

Landscape Plans for Backyard and Front yard
One of the reasons we bought our home was because of the gorgeous yard. Our 1970's home is on an acre, with mature trees and lots of room to add things we enjoy in a yard. We decided to invest in updating the landscaping (in addition to the money we spent on the remodel). When we are looking for a specialist to hire we always try to support our friends businesses. Our friend, Tom has a landscaping business and they put together a great plan for us and actually have already started! Landscape Plan If you are looking at the plans, to the left is the pool, with paver surround. The small ... Read More
Picking Paint Colors for our 1970’s Remodel
I can't believe we are getting close to painting our 1970's Remodel! They are finishing up the mudding and taping, just in time for floors to be dropped off on Friday! They will start installing the wood floors next week. Then cabinets are after that. I had to get the paint colors picked for the cabinets and obviously walls. We created larger paint samples to help us decide on colors, thought I would share what we picked! I am always saving photos on Pinterest and Instagram of paint I like in rooms. Or, if I am looking for a new color, I will google "best white paint" or search a ... Read More

House Remodel Updates and Stair Ideas
We were hoping our home would be done by now. Famous last words of someone remodeling or building a home! We bought our 1970's ranch home in December, but didn't actually start demo until end of March. We hoped it would be finished when Ella's best friend, mom, and sister were visiting this week. They weren't planning on staying at our home, but we would have loved to have them over to the house! So we ARE making the most of them being here this week. We've been showing them all around Utah. And we gave them a tour of our home. Thought I would give you an update too! The sheetrock is done, ... Read More
