We went to Washington DC for a couple for days. This was not my first time or Kevins to DC. Both of us have been separately and we also took the girls about 3 years ago. We LOVE Washington DC. You will never run out of things to do, see, eat and learn! Plus so many of the museums are free, which is awesome!! I asked all of you (on my Instagram) what your top recommendations were for DC and I was not short on ideas from you! Over 1,000 of you told me your top things to do in Washington DC. I narrowed it down to the most suggested and also made sure our favorites were on the list. Keep reading ... Read More
When to Fertilize Plants and Repotting Houseplants
I LOVE houseplants. I look around my house and majority of my home decor is a houseplant. Houseplants never go out of style. Being in the design industry since I was 15 years old I think I am a little jaded, honestly I just got tired of things quicker. But not my houseplants. It brings me so much joy to see new growth because of the care I put into a houseplant. It is like a child learning something new, but like 99% easier than teaching a child something new. Ha! One of the most asked questions I have been getting lately is "Do you fertilize your houseplants?" So I thought I would write a ... Read More

Painted Play Set and Backyard Updates
I have really been wanting to paint the playset. We bought it last year and I knew we wouldn't paint it last year, since we sealed it right when we got it. I casually mentioned wanting to paint the playset the other day to Kevin, and he was like "no way" but we all know that means "not today, maybe tomorrow". I took a poll over on Instagram asking if I should paint the playset (knowing I would paint it no matter what the poll said). I was just curious how many people would paint their playset if they had one. I was actually surprised that 69% said not to paint it and 31% said yes!!! Of ... Read More

Dining Room Makeover and Board and Batten Wall
This is another first for the blog! I have never done a dining room makeover before! And I really love the idea of a dining room, I think I just like separated space, feels very charming to me. This dining room belongs to my friend Brenda. I met her at our local CrossFit and became friends there. If you remember the entry makeover I did recently, that was her space too. So as you can imagine, the domino effect went into place! I first suggested she change out her lighting! She could have painted the furniture she had, if she didn't have the budget to get all new. But she had some money ... Read More
