Well Nested Christmas- Garland & Christmas Tree Basket
Once Halloween is over, it is officially Christmas! Okay, okay.. Christmas started mid-October in the Nesting household. The holiday season is our favorite time of year and I just couldn't wait to start to slowly deck these halls! Here's the thing--Decorating for Christmas doesn't mean you need to pull out the stockings and ornaments right away! It can be as simple as adding a cozy glow and some more wintery greens! Window Garland- How much time do you spend at your kitchen sink? Hours! Adding a garland to this space is one of my favorite holiday touches. This year I decided to buy faux. ... Read More
Favorite Things for Kid’s Rooms
I will never forget the feeling I had when I discovered I was expecting my first child, Ella Grace (yes.. the namesake for this very blog). As you can imagine, my "nesting" instinct was STRONG and Ella's first bedroom was a small expression of my love and need to care for her. Since then, I have decorated many more kid's bedrooms. In that process, I have learned so much about what works well in kids bedrooms! Can you relate? Do you want to create a mini haven for your child? An escape from the world where they can feel safe, loved and free to be entirely themselves? Everyone wants a ... Read More
Friday Favorites- Blackstone Grill, Christmas Early, New Pan and more!
There is something extra fun about cooking outside! It makes any day a party! As you likely know, Kevin does most of the cooking for our family. I had spied a good friend of ours using a Blackstone Grill with her friends and family and had quietly considered getting one for us. They use it often for Hibachi and it looked delicious and fun (is there a better combo?). Imagine my surprise when one showed up on our porch-- a generous gift from that same friend! It's like she read my mind! We wasted no time getting it all setup (it is the perfect size for our new deck). It's been here for 4 ... Read More

DIY Picture Ledge for art in our Kitchen
Finally did something on the large open wall in our kitchen! We built a picture ledge for all our fun kitchen art! Why didn't I do this sooner? This was my original plan when I designed the kitchen. I had even created a design plan with all the art I wanted to use on the picture ledge. Then when our kitchen was finished I just ended up putting the art all around the kitchen. Today we gathered it all together and made a simple picture ledge. Kevin went to Home Depot and had them cut pieces of this maple wood to the size we wanted. They charge by the liner square foot and our Home Depot ... Read More
Small Master Bedroom Makeover
I was talking to my neighbor the other day and she mentioned that they swapped bedrooms with their daughter. They wanted to give her space for a desk in her bedroom for distance learning. Such kind, selfless parents. Now they were left with the smallest bedroom for a master. I couldn't help but offer to make it over and make it something they would just love, no matter the size. They are the kindest people and we wanted to give back to them somehow. First we started with the design plan…. Thank you The Home Depot for sponsoring this post Master Bedroom Plan #1- Floral wallpaper // ... Read More
