Are you thinking about Valentine gift ideas yet or your plans? No? Then you are like me every year. This year I decided to jump on it because I want to not be scrambling this year around holidays and this will be the first year Kevin isn't traveling over Valentines! We have had some changes around our house, and look forward to sharing more of that later. With the news these days, we are more and more thankful for the time we can spend together. And just want to hold each other tighter and express our love more. I am sure many of you are feeling that way too. Love to hear what you do ... Read More
Family Room in a Small Cape gets a Major Makeover
I remember the first time I saw this home I had tears well up in my eyes, because I knew I would makeover this entire home. It wasn't an accident we met them, it was a gift to us. We first went to this charming little cape, because Rachel (the mom) had written to us when we asked for local kids rooms to makeover. We selected her son Luke, to do a makeover for. Rachel wasn't home when Kevin and I went to see Lukes bedroom, and looking back, it was a blessing she wasn't. Rachels friend let us in to measure Lukes room, then she asked if we wanted to see all their home. It just needed some love. ... Read More
DIY Floating Shelves- Get the Custom “built-in” look with Wallpaper!
We wanted to give a blank wall the recent makeover room we have been working on some charm and character. Initially I thought of doing a built-in bookcase, like we did for my sister-in-laws nursery. Kevin was game for it. But when we built those bookcases we had two people working on it (Kevin and his brother) and it took about two days. So with that math, it would take him A LOT of time, that we really don't have. After much thought I came up with the idea to do floating shelves. And DIY the floating shelves with some wallpaper, to make a statement wall and give the feeling and look of a ... Read More
Bathroom Remodel- Favorite Affordable Vanities and Plan
Below is what our bathroom looks like as of today! We have plumbing and electrical!!! Very exciting. Right now I am in the process of narrowing down our choices for vanity, lighting and tile. I already know we are doing a claw foot tub, but needed to know the rest! I thought I would share part of the decision making process. Inspiration Photo- I ALWAYS find an inspiration photo. I don't go looking for a new photo, I just look back at photos I have saved and look for a common theme. And one thing I noticed about bathrooms is I always save bathroom photos with a clawfoot tub ... Read More
What I bought from Target and Favorites!
Bringing back Friday Favorite for 2020! I like these casual posts, just sharing my favorite things from the week. I went into Target the other day when I was in the area (which isn't often) and ended up buying some gifts for Valentines (I will share that later) and then bought a few home decor pieces. And saw some other favorites in person. I linked them below! We went to Kona, Hawaii this past week, I have a blog post coming on that next week. But before we left, when I should have been packing, I decided to hang these pink velvet curtains. They are the same curtains I used in ... Read More
Maximizing your Eat-In Kitchen with a Banquette
My sweet sister has a family of 6 and sadly only 5 of them can sit up to the kitchen table! Tragedy. No, not really, the 1 doesn't eat in their bedroom, they have an island they can sit up to also. It just isn't the same as having everyone gathered around the kitchen table. And not to mention the family and friends they often invite over for dinner. It is one thing to not have the room for a larger kitchen table and seating, but they actually have the space, it just wasn't maximized….yet! Kevin and I decided to give Brittany a new kitchen table and a built-in banquette for her birthday. She ... Read More

All my Favorite Battery Lights- Make your Home Glow
It is that time of year when Christmas decor is down and our homes are left without the glow that we all love. Or that "hygge" feeling. If you aren’t sure what hygge is (pronounced hue-guh not hoo-gah). It is a Danish word used when acknowledging a feeling or moment, whether alone or with friends, at home or out, ordinary or extraordinary as cozy, charming or special. We can have that feeling all year round. Just add a couple of flameless candles, lamps and string lights! I rounded up some of my favorites lights! Flameless Taper Candles- these are in my bookcase and have a ... Read More
Brand New Laundry Room Gets Some Character
One of my best friends, Laila, moved into her new home, with her family, about 4 months ago. I had sent her some leftover wallpaper I had from another project to use somewhere in her home. It is a wallpaper that really could look great anywhere! She ended up deciding to use the wallpaper in her laundry room. But kept putting off installing it for all the reasons many of us put off projects- we just don't know where to start and it seems overwhelming! While we were in Utah for Christmas we went over to hang out at Lailas with my other friend Stacy. Of course we can't just let her ... Read More
Mini Affordable Living Room Update with Joanna Gaines Wallpaper
My parents have lived in the home I grew up in since I was about one. Friends have come and gone, but they are just happy where they are. Their yard is great with a garden and bees and the location is very central to everything including family and work. But what wasn't working was their entertaining space, it was very chopped up. And with how much they host, they needed a wall to come down!!! Below is the photos of what their space looked like before. You would walk into a living room on the left, with a wall on your right separating an unused bedroom that they had two recliners ... Read More
